Eat Every Roll at The Eatery: Day 3

My personal favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver is The Eatery in Kitsilano. (You'll find it featured in the Worldwide Faves section of this blog!) I like it because it's super unique, an amazingly fun atmosphere, casual, not too expensive, located in my neighbourhood... And most of all because the sushi is funky, innovative and exciting! It's a sushi party every time and you're invited!!

The best thing on the menu is their rolls. They offer sixty nine different rolls to choose from!!! Each one is very interesting and far from your average roll. Recently, it occurred to me what I must do. I must try every single one of their funky sushi rolls. I am going to visit The Eatery once a week (Sushi Sunday!), order four rolls each time, and keep doing so until I have tried them all. My husband is going to help with this project in order to provide a second opinion. Sushi Sunday: Day 3 (Whoops, it was a Tuesday.)

Broadway ~ Tempura unagi with avocado, tobiko, topped with smoked salmon and lemon slices. The hit of lemon is unexpected and nice but I was hoping for more with this one. Erika: 3/5 ~ Tim: 2.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 2.75/5 Charlie Tuna ~ Too good to be canned! Avocado cream cheese roll draped with tempura tuna. A little bit too bland but the creaminess was good. Erika: 2.5/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 2.75/5 The Beet It Roll ~ Beets, avocado, tempura yams and mango. So different! Loved the beets and bit of crunch and sweetness! (Plus it's beautiful.) Erika: 4.5/5 ~ Tim: 3.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 4/5 Captain Crunch ~ Arrrrr... California roll with unagi mayo (tempura style). Really good crunch, I liked the twist on a classic. Erika: 3.5/5 ~ Tim: 2.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3/5 Keep following along to find out which rolls will end up in our sushi hall of fame!
